Globalization is something that can no longer be avoided in the industrial era 4.0. This era marked with “Implementation of Cyber Physical System, Internet of Things, Internet of Services and Big Data Analysis as well as Smart Factory and Smart Product” [1]. In the century In the 21st century, globalization is supported by the availability of internet access that connects people from all over the world in a platform that is vast and can’t even be seen. This discovery is not without impact, the internet penetrates almost everything aspects of human life, ranging from lifestyle, economy, politics to culture. The internet can easily influence the mindset and actions of humans as well as spread information from one region to another at the end of the world, This influence has an impact on the culture of a nation.
Indonesia as a country rich in ethnicity and culture cannot be avoided from the impact globalization, one of which can be seen from the moral shift in culture dress. Many Indonesian young people follow the trend of western clothing even though Some of these clothes are still considered taboo by some groups of society. Not only about clothes, this shift in values and morals then has an impact too on Indonesian cultural diversity. Young people today are more focused on their careers and their social life and their preponderance of spending time on social media [2] so that they no longer have time to follow the local cultural studio. Problems don’t just come from young people but also from parties such as schools, parents and local governments nor does it promote the introduction and activities of local culture in young people so many cultures are no longer passed on and disappear.
A shift in mindset towards a more global world and the inclusion of global values (such as feminism) through various media causes some cultures loses its essence and is then erased. However, the internet can promote local culture, not only national level but also national level international if used properly. Cultural promotions carried out in the internet can reach audiences in various parts of the world and sometimes cheaper compared to regular promotion costs. Even the loss of some cultures has free the local community from the bad effects of the culture. For example only Articleo culture in Sumba and Nagayau in Kalimantan.
